Erez Rosen - Financial Expertise, Globalization

Prior to founding the Rosen Group, Erez served as CFO of Aladdin Knowledge Systems (NASDAQ/TASE:ALDN) a Global leader in IT Security for more then seven years.

Erez co-lead the success of Aladdin in the “Global Village”, turning the company into one of the greatest high tech success stories of the post bubble era. Erez’s experience gained during those years is instrumental to the success of the Rosen Group.

Prior to joining Aladdin, Erez gained extensive financial and operating expertise working for large, public multinationals in Europe (Heineken and BASF), Asia and the US. His past roles were as head of Finance and Administration of NDS Technologies in Israel (A wholly owned subsidiary of News Corp), Group Financial Controller of a private industrial group and various finance/administration positions for the BASF Group in Germany and Italy.

Erez has served on Board of Directors of public and private companies both in NASDAQ and Tel Aviv and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Erez has a long resume of speaking positions on international panels, in the business press and TV/Radio.

Erez holds a BA in Economics from Hebrew University in Jerusalem, an MBA from INSEAD, has completed The General Manager Program (TGMP) at Harvard Business School and has participated in the management trainee program in Finance and Administration of BASF AG.

Shimon Gruper is a noted worldwide expert and a pioneer in the fields of anti-virus, malicious code, anti-spyware and Information Security. With more than 20 years of experience in the information security industry,

In 2009 Shimon founded and managed VibeSec - Unified Communications security startup. From 2011 Shimon served as a strategic security advisor to SafeNet eSafe business unit. Prior to that Shimon held the position of Aladdin eSafe CTO and VP of Security Technologies. Before joining Aladdin in 1999, Shimon was the founder and the technology leader behind eSafe Technologies Inc, a pioneer in Internet and web-based anti-malware solutions. In 1987, Shimon founded EliaShim Ltd., which was one of the first companies in the world to develop a comprehensive anti-virus product based on generic detection algorithms.

Shimon’s research has resulted in several important security industry patents and his expertise has been the focus of numerous articles in the top scientific and technical trade journals. Shimon frequently presents at the industry conferences on such topics as Internet Security, Network security, anti-virus and anti-malware.

Yigal Galli  - International Branding  Expertise, Globalization

Yigal is an expert executive in the field of consumer goods in the international markets

With over 20 years of managerial experience in a variety of public and private industries, he specializes in multicultural brands.

Yigal served as CEO of Tnuva’s food division with a sales turnover of NIS 3 bn in various industrial and agricultural foods.

Prior to joining Tnuva, Yigal was CEO of Maabarot (TASE 100), during his tenure the  market cap increased from NIS 70 m to NIS 600 m, during this period he acquired six companies and sold the baby food division to Nestle.

Yigal worked for Straus Elite where he managed the marketing of the JV with Pepsico, he  managed Elite’s sweets private label company in France, managed Straus’s coffee operation in Israel, and managed Stauss’ international operations in Central and East Europe.

Prior to Elite, Yigal worked for Keter Plastics where he built and managed the retail shops of the company.

Yigal holds a BA in Economics and History of Art  from the Tel Aviv University, an MBA from INSEAD, he completed advanced Management programs in INSEAD relating to International Management and Cross Cultural Management and the Innovation Program  at Harvard Business School.

 

Dr. Marcus Opitz - Financial Expertise, Globalization

Marcus is a specialist director (CFO/CRO/CEO) having managed acquisitions, restructurings and disposals (including flotations) of circa 60 companies on behalf of both corporate (i.e.BASF SE) and private equity businesses.

He is the founder of OP Advisory Services GmbH, IZS - Institut für Zahlungssicherheit GmbH and smartwork solutions GmbH.

Within OP Advisory his recent projets are the restructuring of the Trenkwalder International AG, Vienna, including a turkish subisidiairy with 10.000 employees; the restructuring of a public listed manufacturing company based in Hannover in the sector of Parking and Ticketing Equipment.

Before that he served as the CRO for ICTS Europe Holding B.V., Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Following repossession from a Private Equity Group on behalf of the bank syndicate he restructured and sold the group.

Prior to that he worked for the last 18 years principally with Private Equity groups (e.g. Apax, TPG, Providence, KKR, JP Morgan, 3i, Silverfleet) as well as bank syndicates and gained the following experience:

  • Completed 4 successful buy and build operations
  • Managed 7 operational restructurings incl. refinancing in most cases after a covenant breach; in one case hired by the bank syndicate
  • Post Merger Integration in around 30 cases
  • Flotation on the public market as well as being a Board Member of listed companies
  • Establishment of a Trust structure (“doppelnützige Treuhand”)
  • Close and established working relationships with many financial institutions
  • Expert of the so called “Loan Market Agreement” (LMA) for Leverage Buyout Financing

Marcus holds a Diplom-Kaufmann from Cologne University, had a scholarship for the HEC (France), followed by an M.B.A. from New York University as well as a PhD from Cologne University

 

Ofer Wolf  - Logistics and Technology Expertise

Ofer is an expert manager in the field of Logistics and Technology.

With over 20 years of military service experience in a variety of technological and logistical positions, Ofer specializes in management of complex operational units, the whole logistical chain and technological units. His fields of expertise include optimization of organizational resources, continuous improvement plans, QC and improvement of management control.

Ofer’s last position in the Israeli Defense Forces was Chief of Staff of the Technological and Logistics Branch (TLB) with the rank of Brigadier General. Amongst his previous positions Ofer was commander of the Rehabilitation and Maintenance center (Depot), commander of the Test, Evaluation and Quality Assurance (TEQA) unit and commander of Tanks and Apc's production plant .

Ofer is a Mechanical Engineer from the Technion, holds an EMBA from the Tel Aviv University and has completed various advanced Trainings and management programs in engineering, project management, command and financial management.

 

Dr. Michael Sessler - Family Business, Globalization

Michael began his career as a medical doctor. Beginning his studies with Medical and Clinical courses at Tel-Aviv University in Israel, he went on to study at Rome University where he received his Medicine School Graduate (MD). Also at Rome University, he studied Clinical Project Management, under the guidance of Prof. Rita Levi Montalccini, winner of The Nobel Prize in Physiology in 1986. 

Since 1992, Michael has held senior managerial positions at the Electra consumer Products part of Elco Group, with over 6,800 employees and sales turnover of $1.12 Bil, Elco is one of Israel's leading corporations. The Group combines private and public companies that deal with infrastructure industries related to the manufacturing of consumer products, sales, marketing, wholesaling and real estate. Beginning in 2000, Dr. Sessler was elevated to Senior Vice President.

Among Michael's responsibilities was direct accountability and control of the P&L including various managerial positions involving the establishment of new lines of activity in Israel and abroad; the reorganization of various divisions within the company and takeovers of new companies and their integration within the group.

Michael led Electra and Elco in the establishment, integration and operation of new businesses in Israel, Australia, South America, China and the USA with a special emphasis on Europe. He supervised the creation and implementation of annual budgets and work plans, including marketing, business development, recruitment, credit management, human resources, communications, sales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions.

Michael served as Chairman of the Board of four companies and as director in six, in Spain and Italy. He has taken senior management courses at the Harvard Business School and the Israeli Management Institute as well as at General Electric and the Export Institute.

Currently, Michael  is active in developing new ventures in the field of real estate in Germany, and other business activities in Israel. 

Michael is Goodwill Ambassador to Israeli Autistic Children’s Association, Goodwill Ambassador in Prize for Life supporting research and therapy for ALS and member of the Benefit Society for the Rabin Medical Center.

 

John-James Farquharson - HR, Globalization

John-James (JJ) brings deep HR expertise across different industries and continents. In his last post in Beijing he served as the only Foreign Expert heading up Human Resources for 35,000 employees in a 10 Bio USD JV between Blackstone and a China state owned enterprise.

Prior to that, he headed up HR as Executive Team Member for Elcoteq, a Finnish telecoms manufacturer.  He spent four years with Danaher Corporation as VP HR for one of their divisions and before that, 14 years at BASF starting in the Marketing Talent Program - moving to sales - a JV in Japan, as director of a chemical plant in the UK and then into HR with responsibility for BASF’s high potential recruitment and development programs. 

JJ’s specific skills lie in the people aspects around acquisition due diligence, transfer of undertaking and integration working for US, German, Finnish, Swiss and Chinese companies. The second area is HR transformation - putting in processes for hiring, on-boarding, talent mapping, succession planning & expatriation. Thirdly,  setting up new compensation models with different equity schemes. Finally, addressing European industrial relations issues for Norwegian, French, German and Hungarian companies. JJ is comfortable dealing with different Western boards and compensation committees and regulatory authorities or working alongside China communist party secretaries to ensure the necessary transformations get traction.

JJ served as a Lieutenant in the Queens Dragoon Guards including one-and-a-half years in an anti-terror unit. An elected Life Member of the Indian Himalayan Club he has been fortunate to take part in 3 first Himalayan ascents. He has a first class degree from Oxford, an MBA from Insead and speaks conversation Chinese and fluent French & German.
